As we come to the end of B Corp Month, we’re taking a moment to reflect on our journey, what it means to build a better business, and why that matters now more than ever.
More and more people are choosing brands that don’t just deliver great products but also take responsibility for their impact on the world. That’s exactly what being a B Corp is all about.
The beginning
The global B Corp certification, led by B Lab, was created to give people greater transparency into how businesses operate, measuring their social, environmental and ethical performance.
Pura was founded with the ambition of becoming a B Corp from day one. We wanted to build a business that balanced purpose and profit and used that as a guiding principle for every decision we made.
Shortly after launching, we achieved B Corp Pending status, marking an important first step on that journey. Just one year later, we were proud to achieve full certification.
As part of the assessment, companies are evaluated across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Based on the B Impact Assessment, Pura earned an overall score of 82.1, well above the current average of 50.9.
What that looks like in practice
For us, being a B Corp isn’t just about meeting a standard, it’s about embedding better practices into everything we do.
That includes:
- Continuously improving the sustainability of our products and packaging
- Creating a supportive, inclusive environment for our team
- Building strong, responsible relationships with our suppliers
- Giving back to the communities we’re part of
These aren’t one-off initiatives; they’re ongoing commitments that shape how we operate every day.
Recertification

In August 2025, we recertified as a B Corp with a score of 103, a significant leap from our original 82.1.
This progress reflects the work we’ve done behind the scenes to go further: strengthening our policies, improving transparency, and finding new ways to reduce our impact while increasing our positive contribution.
But the most important thing to understand is this: being a B Corp isn’t about a one-off badge or a logo. It’s about a long-term vision, a belief that business can, and must, be a force for good.

For our customers, this means you can trust that we’re committed to doing the right thing, not just when it’s easy, but as we continue to grow.
It means greater transparency, more responsible choices, and a brand that’s always striving to improve.
