Pura is now a B Corp!

What's a b-corp?

The global B Corp certification scheme was created to people give transparency on the ethical, social and environmental performance of brands.

During the assessment, companies are scored on the positive impact they on the planet, their staff and the communities they operate in. Based on the B Impact assessment, Pura earned an overall score of 82.1! The average score for businesses who complete the assessment is currently just 50.9.

Here’s just some of what we’ve achieved in the past two years:

People

Supported communities and charities: We’ve donated thousands of nappies and wipes to The Hygiene Bank. Our products go to the children of families living in poverty, who cannot afford the basic essentials needed to keep themselves clean.

Given parents choice: Our lower impact, high performance and affordable baby care has allowed parents to easily switch from wipes and nappies that are more harmful for the planet.

Supported parents like you at work: We’ve created new parent policies to help mums and dads working at Pura. This means that all employees are now offered 8 weeks of fully paid maternity/paternity leave.

Planet

Well on our way to net zero: We were proud to become a Carbon Neutral business in 2021! And we’re also now part of the B Corp Climate Collective, committed to achieving Net Zero by 2030. Hopefully sooner!

Championed recycling: All Pura’s packaging is 100% recyclable with clear labels on pack telling consumers how to recycle. We’ve also partnered with Wales-based NappiCycle. 41 million nappy equivalents were diverted from landfill in Wales in 2020 alone, and now, in partnership with Asda, we’ve launched a nappy recycling trial in Bristol.

But we want to do even better! As a B Corp we’ll be held accountable as we continually push ourselves to improve our impact, measured through our B Impact Assessment score every three years.

We hope you’ll be watching as we take big steps. A massive thank you for your support, it means everything to us!
